Dollar General's NextGen stores use a back-office application commonly referred to as Vision Commerce Suite (VCS).

The names you'll commonly encounter are:

Vision Commerce Suite (VCS) – the primary back-office application.
Additional Cash Management – the VCS module used for:
- Till reconciliation
- End-of-session processing
- Deposits
- Cash management
- POS transaction inquiries
- Receipt lookups/reprints

The overall environment consists of:

Component	Purpose
NextGen POS	Front-end touchscreen cash registers
Vision Commerce Suite (VCS)	Back-office management software
StoreNet	Company intranet for SOPs, forms, payroll, CBLs, reports, and communications
DGMe	Employee self-service portal for schedules, pay, benefits, and HR

Many Dollar General employees simply call the back-office program "VCS" or "Vision Commerce." Discussions among employees also refer to it as the NextGen back-office software.
